Media monitoring
From ControllingWiki
Media monitoring is a professional evaluation of the external outputs, that means the publications achieved through the internal output. Historically, media monitoring included so-called clippings - i.e. press clippings. According to copyright law and use the media presence is documented by digital or analog facsimile. The original newspaper article or an internet site are also given with reference and additional information such as edition, range, publisher, placement etc. Clipping is in Germany subject to strict copyright restrictions. That is why original articles are in large part cut out and set on a DIN-A4-page. Nowadays media monitoring provides these services in all types of media such as print, TV, radio, online (visits, downloads etc.). In addition, it not only just registers external outputs, but there are still new methods of media resonance analysis developed.
