While trying to escape the Death Star the team rescue Princess Leia, held prisoner in the ships bowels. Throughout the rescue Obi Wan sacrifices himself to permit the others to escape.

In a marvelous finale, Luke damages the Death Star by firing a missile into a vulnerable point in the structure of the ship and Darth Vader, is cannoned off into the depths of area.

9. Pulp Fiction

6. The Seven Samurai

Regarded as Akira Kurosawa's biggest film, the Seven Samurai informs the tale of a terrorised community in war-torn 16th Century Japan. Constantly attacked by gangs of bandits, the locals enlist the services of seven ronin, or samurai without masters, to secure them.

In spite of initial tensions between the villagers and the samurai, they together effectively defend the community against the bandits. Nevertheless, their success comes at the expense of the lives of four samurai.
